Fitch, P.E., W2IPI, has been a registered professional consultant engineer for over 30 years and is a member of the Association of Federal Communications Consultant Engineers (AFCCE), a senior member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE), lifetime Certified Professional Broadcast Engineer with AM Directional certification and a lifetime member of the ARRL. Mr. Fitch has been a licensed master electrical contractor for over 40 years, a former radio station owner and former Director of Engineering of WTIC-TV, Hartford, and WHSH-TV, Boston. Mr. Fitch has been licensed by the Federal Communications Commission as a commercial and amateur (extra class) operator for over 50 years. Mr. Fitch presently endeavors in five areas … As a Broadcast Consultant Engineer … representing stations throughout the country before the Federal Communications Commission in Washington on engineering matters covering allocations, regulatory compliance, radio frequency radiation, treaty and ancillary concerns. As an electrical and mechanical design engineer. As the president of the Fitch Communications Companies … firms that own and lease antenna space on communications support structures and towers in four New England States. As a professional engineer … almost exclusively in the design and evaluation of communication tower structures. As a technical writer … as a script doctor on technical matters and for many and varied trade publications that report on the communications industry. Mr. Fitch was presented the SBE's award for best article in 2001 for a forty part series on the National Electrical Code that ran in Radio World Magazine, the technical journal of the Broadcast Radio industry.
