His favorite television show is This Old Hose.) Dave was on the air and was first on the scene when the building caught fire. See details below. |

| On the afternoon of June 7, 2000, fire raced through the attic area of the WJJY/KTCF Studio Building. |

The station was off the air for six hours while the Brainerd Fire Department did their work. That included cutting holes in the studio roof to get at the fire. Fortunately, they were able to save the building. |

This is a photo from the next morning.
There was water and smoke damage, but the stations were able to get back on the air with a minimum of damaged equipment. We can thank the quick thinking of General Manager Mike Boen, who borrowed tarps from the Salvation Army next door and put them over most of the equipment.
