Fall of 2000. Studio construction gets underway in Baxter, MN. The building is just being framed while the STL (Studio Transmitter Link) tower is being built. You can see a construction crane getting ready to lift the top section of the 150 foot tower. |

Conduits are laid in the ground before concrete is poured. These conduits are for audio and control wiring between the studios and the Engineering Room in the center of the building. You can see the conduits coming up in a row in the center of the photo. Note the conduits go in pairs. That is in case a problem develops in any one conduit. |

Wiring under counter tops, as in the Engineering Room, is done with plastic cable routing clamps that are 3" by 3". That is 9 square inches of cable that can be run in a single set of clamps. The key here is that there is room for expansion. |

Punch blocks in the Engineering Room bring cables together from all of the studios and the equipment racks in that room. This is a well thought out arrangement that works well especially when wiring changes are required. |
