The Big Horn mountain range as viewed from Banner Ridge where the KSUW transmitter is located.

Shane Toven Chief Engineer of Wyoming Public Radio.  He is seen here standing at the KSUW transmitter site.  It is a 500 watt FM station, broadcasting in HD.

In that rack from top to bottom:
--International Datacasting SFX2103 satellite receiver...Inserts the station ID at the top of each hour to eliminate the need for identifying 14 stations in a list at the top of every hour
--Burk ARC-16 for transmitter remote control
--Audemat-Aztec GoldenEagle HD for detailed monitoring of HD signal parameters
--Harris HDx-FM exciter for generating both the analog and HD signals using common amplification
--Harris HDE-100 "Exporter" for generating the HD bitstream...Also generates a delay for the analog audio to match the digital
--Harris ZX1000 solid state transmitter--Amplifies analog and HD signals to a TPO of 480 watts.

The main station is KUWR, which is also situated on a mountain top.  The transmitter there is a Broadcast Electronics FM 35B on 91.9 MHz.  The 100 KW signal emanates 1099 feet above average terrain and 8986 feet above mean sea level.  Learn more at:  http://www.wyomingpublicradio.net
