Actually it is a not-so-happy phase converter that failed on Sunday,
July 9, 2000. Mark used a Sencore Z Meter to analyze the
problem and decide there was a short on one of the primary windings
of the phase converter.
We ran the transmitter on single phase power until a replacement phase converter arrived. That 10% power kept the Brainerd and Bemidji translators running even though they were 85 and 65 miles away respectively. |

Here is Mark with the new Phasemaster rotary converter in place on July 25th, 2000. This new unit worked well and got the station back to full power. |
KAXE has an FM translator in Brainerd at 89.9 MHz and one in Bemidji at 94.7 MHz. You can also hear them on the web at: http://www.kaxe.org Their telephone number is 218-326-1234.
