Christmas in Minneapolis, MN
December 2007

Here we find our intrepid travelers, Mark and Paula Persons, in downtown Minneapolis posing beside the bronze statue of Mary Tyler Moore
The couple take the Metro Transit light rail system south for half a day.  It is a great example of a clean, efficient, and safe transportation system.  Train cars are heated in the winter and cooled in the summer.  It is a very good way to get from point A to point B in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.
Metro Transit to the Mall of America from downtown Minneapolis was less than 40 minutes.

Paula is admiring one of the Christmas decorations at the famous Mall of America.

Back in downtown Minneapolis, pigeons are feeding on the sidewalk, thanks to generous humans.
Evenings in downtown Minneapolis bring on the Holidazzal parade as seen on the Nicolet Mall.
A circus train brings the animals.
Snow and snowmen are as Minnesotan as Christmas and snow.
There goes the Ginger Bread House.
Paula, the SCUBA diver, was seen conversing with a shark on the street.
WCCO-TV has studios in downtown Minneapolis.  Here is the 6 PM newscast as viewed from Nicolet Avenue.  The temperature that evening was 6 degrees with a wind chill of -10 degrees.

More on Christmas at Gilbert Lodge.
