January 18,
2010: Another challenge showed up at the shop. This one is a
Nautel Ampfet ND1. It is a 1 KW solid-state AM transmitter that is in need
of repairs and retuning to a new frequency. There it is, next to a dummy
load and ready for a workup.
February 18, 2010: Final testing was completed after retuning and the crew from WVAL picked it up. This transmitter will be used as the main on a new 540 KHz station in Sauk Rapids, MN. It will be a part of the WVAL group of stations. |
The stories go on and on. Stop in
again sometime. I'll leave the soldering iron on for you.
