Breakfast at Gilbert Lodge

Paula was in the Chef's Galley at Gilbert Lodge cooking a Grand Puffy Pancake for breakfast.  Mark is looking on with great pride and anticipation of enjoying this treat.

According to Paula, Chef at Gilbert Lodge, the Ingredients are:

Large Eggs

1 cup

Whole Milk

1 cup

All purpose flour

2 tablespoon

Granulated sugar

¼ teaspoon

Salt

2 tablespoons

Margarine or butter

Directions:

1.   Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

2.   Prepare pancake:  Place 10-inch skillet with oven-safe handle in oven; heat until very hot.  In blender at medium speed, combine eggs, milk, four, sugar and salt until smooth.

Remove skillet from oven; add margarine and swirl until melted.  Pour batter into hot skillet; bake 15 minutes or until puffy and golden.

The Grand Table at Gilbert Lodge 

The Grand Puffy Pancake was quartered and served with Wild Huckleberry Syrup from Montana.  Also, on the plate, is thick-cut bacon from Thelen Meats in Little Falls, MN.
