It is a winter wonderland out there. Daytime temperatures are above zero, but below freezing. Night temperatures below zero. |

December 11, 2007: It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Gilbert Lodge. This star is 65 feet in the air towering above the grounds on a cold winter evening just west of the Lodge. Inside Gilbert Lodge, the majestic Christmas Tree stands proud in the Great Room for guests to see in awe. |

It is
great to have a roaring fire in the Grand Fireplace in the Great Room at
Gilbert Lodge. Paula is just visible watching the fire. Click here to see our Christmas Letter Gilbert Lodge is a short 2-1/4 hours north of Minneapolis/St. Paul where Christmas is also celebrated. Details. The new year came in with a cold snap. The morning of January 2nd was -14 degrees F. The wind chill brought it to -25 degrees. |
