Time Delay Relay Replacement |
This is a photo of the inside of the front door of a Harris MW-10B 10 KW AM Transmitter. The original green colored time delay relay failed and an original replacement was not available from Harris. It is shown being held above the socket it normally plugs into. An excellent low-cost replacement is a Square D model 9050JCK13V20 relay available from Grainger as part number 5B402, which is the white colored relay near the bottom of the photo. Because the new relay is larger and did not use the same socket type, it could not be plugged into the original circuit card. Instead, new wiring was run from the original socket to the surface mount socket below. This was an excellent resolution of the problem.

The stories go on and on.
Stop in again sometime. I'll leave the soldering iron on for you.
